You might be surprised and just how versatile the Instant Pot is though, who knew you could cook cheesecake and Instant Pot beef steak in the same countertop appliance? Read on to find out about 5 recipes you didn’t know you could make in the Instant Pot…

Sweet n Slow Cooked Pork Tacos


– 1lb of chopped pork

– 1 small onion

– 2 garlic cloves

– 1/2 cup of chopped pineapple (canned will do)

– 1/4 cup of water

– 1 tablespoon of honey

– 1 tablespoon of chipotle seasoning

– 1 tablespoon of fajita mix

– Cilantro

– 1 lime (juiced)

Combine these ingredients in the Instant Pot and cook for 7 minutes. Serve with salsa and tortillas

2.  Beef Steak


– 2lbs of beef steak

– 1/4 cup of vinegar

– Splash of red wine

– Spices: oregano, paprika, steak seasoning, salt and pepper

– 1 onion

– 3 minced garlic cloves

– 1 cup beef stock

– 6 new potatoes

Lay the sliced onions, garlic, and potatoes at the base of the Instant Pot. Cover with the beef steak and poor over all wet ingredients. Set Instant Pot to 20 minutes and cook on a high pressure.

3.  Beef Steak Noodle Soup


– 2lbs beef steak

– 1/4 vegetable oil

– 2 garlic cloves, crushed

– 1 teaspoon minced ginger

– 1 tablespoon spicy bean paste

– 1 cup rice wine (or mirin)

– 1 cup of soy sauce

– 2 roughly chopped tomatoes

– 1 carrot

– 2 tablespoons of brown sugar

– 1 onion

– 1/2 apple

– Ramen noodles

– Cilantro

– 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Cook all ingredients, apart from noodles, in Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for 90 minutes. Boil noodles afterwards and add to the beef steak sauce.

4.  Chocolate Cookie Cheesecake


– 12 small chocolate cookies of your choice, crushed to small crumbs

– 6 small chocolate cookies broken up into chunks

– 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened

– 2 cups of cream cheese

– 1/2 caster sugar

– 2 medium eggs

– 1/4 double cream

– 1 tablespoon of plain flour

– 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

– 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder

Mix crushed cookies with butter and line the Instant Pot with this. Mix all other ingredients and pour into Instant Pot. Cook on high pressure for 35 minutes.

5.  Instant Pot Fresh Yoghurt


– 2 litres of whole milk

– 2 1/2 tbsp of plain greek yoghurt with active bacterial cultures

Heat the milk to 180 degrees. Stir the heated milk. Wait until the milk has cooled to 111 degrees and add yoghurt cultures. Use the Yoghurt Normal Function to then combine the cultures. If the yoghurt is not thick enough, you can use a strainer to achieve desired consistency.
