Table of Contents
Folk and Heritage Festival
The annual festival is located just down the road from Luke AFB and nearby realtors. From February 29th to March 1st, you can celebrate folk music and its history along with its culture. There will be live performances from over 400 musicians, educational workshops for the whole family, cowboy poetry, and authentic storytelling.
One of the best parts of this festival? It is completely free! This is a great time of year to spend outdoors, with mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine!
The Chocolate Experience
During the weekend of February 8th, Glendale hosts an intimate chocolate event. This is a must for any chocolate lover with samples from select chocolatiers and craft artisans. Plus, there are tasty wine pairings and live music.
There are a few different chocolate festivals throughout the valley, but this one is more of a special experience. The goal of the Chocolate Experience is to offer an intimate and exclusive chocolate experience to chocolate lovers of all ages! Plus, this is a FREE event!
Glendale Glitters
Glendale Glitters lights up downtown Glendale every December. This is another free event that you can’t miss!
In fact, it is known as the largest free holiday light display throughout all of Arizona. From the end of November to the beginning of January, Glendale Glitters is a tradition that has been going on for over 25 years. Liz from Stchd.com attends the yearly event and says it never disappoints. This past year’s display has over 1.5 million twinkling lights that stretched across 16 blocks.
Sporting Events
Arizona is home to some great sports teams, and luckily there are games that take place throughout the year. For most of the year, you can catch some sort of baseball game thanks to the Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona being home to Spring Training. Even in Glendale, spring training takes over every February and March.
Also located in Glendale, the Phoenix Coyotes hit the ice as one of the best hockey teams in the country. When the Coyotes aren’t playing, you can catch special concerts and events at the arena.
Located just across the street from the Coyotes sits State Farm Stadium. This is where the Arizona Cardinals take the football field. The stadium also hosts college games, festivals, and other events when the Cardinals aren’t playing games.
Glendale is not only home to some great events, but it is also home to the perfect weather for these events. Some are indoors and others are outside. But either way, you will be able to experience all Glendale has to offer, rain or shine!
