Bioware plans to hold a series of discussion on its community forums. The studio is “incredibly excited” about the future of the [Dragon Age] franchise and has turned to its fanbase for useful feedback.

“Every month, we will discuss a topic or question about Dragon Age and game development. You will have one week to post your thoughts, desires, and hopes before we close the thread for review. Moderators and developers will pop into the thread to chat every now and again, so keep an eye out.

“These questions and discussions are not only for future games, but other potential products like novels, animated features, pen and paper RPGs, and comics – all of which offer us opportunities to expand on parts of the world.”

BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka also mentioned that they’d like to open up more in future Dragon Age titles, so now we turn to you: What kinds of things would you like to learn more about? Antivan weddings? Orlesian balls? The remnants of the Tevinter empire? Burial customs among the Chaisind?”

The next PlayStation Vita Heaven Event is scheduled to be held next month in Japan.

New titles for the system are expected to be revealed during the event. During the first PS Vita Heaven broadcast back in March Phantasy Star Online 2 was one of the titles announced for the portable system. However, the event was criticized by fans due to the lack of new titles.

While we can’t say what will be shown during June’s event, we can confirm that nothing from CAVE Interactive will be shown. The Japanese video game company best known for its arcade shoot-’em-ups has cancelled its two PS Vita games; a social game called Shirotsuku, and an unnamed shooter.

Capcom announced a new shooter that takes place in the Lost Planet universe called Ex Trooper.

Unlike previous titles in the series, this action shooter for the PS3 and 3DS will boasts anime visuals and will star a high school girl.

EX Troopers tells of the fight between the snow pirates and Akrid aliens on EDN-3rd. You play as Bren Turner, a young man who’s come to the academy (the game has a school theme) from EDN-2nd.

The main characters are TeeKee, a female snow pirate who has the ability to communicate with the Akrid, and Gingira, a Vital Suit that’s loaded with next generation AI and can communicate with its pilot. Gingira calls Bren “Master.”

The EDN-3rd planet has three bases, each with unique traits. You select one of these to serve as your base of operations. The three bases figure into the story, as while Bren comes from one base, other members of the academy come from different bases. The story will be told through “manga demo” cut scenes (similar to Gravity Rush).

Monster Hunter producer Shintaro Kojima is pioneering the game which is currently 60% complete. Ex Trooper will be playable at Capcom’s Summer Jam event in Japan.

For years Final Fantasy aficionados have demanded a remake to one of the most popular installments to the series, the classic Final Fantasy VII. Despite the outcry from fans Square Enix has kept its stance against updating the fifteen year old title.

Speaking to Famitsu this week, Square Enix character designer and director Tetsuya Nomura acknowledged the desire for a Final Fantasy VII remake stating that “the focus is now on making new titles.”

With these new games Nomura expects them to match or even top the legendary Final Fantasy VII.

Although Nomura didn’t mention the names of these new games that can challenge the greatness of FFVII, one would have to assume that he’s speaking of the long awaited Final Fantasy Versus XIII or perhaps Final Fantasy XV.

During an earning’s call today THQ confirmed that it will no longer be publishing Tomonobu Itagaki’s new IP, Devil’s Third. THQ CEO Brian Farrell simply stated that the ”profitability profile of Devil’s Third no longer meets our internal threshold.”

With THQ’s restructuring, it was cited that the investment being put into the game simply did not make sense compared to other titles in THQ’s lineup, the publisher noted.

The company hasn’t completely hung the title out to dry. THQ is in talks with other publishers about getting the game launched.

Devil’s Third is a third-person shooter developed by Valhalla Game Studios. It’s the first project developed by Dead or Alive creator and former Tecmo employee, Tomonobu Itagaki.

The game was scheduled for a 2013 release for the PS3, 360, WiiU and PC.

Ubisoft’s I Am Alive was the number one selling title on PSN during the month of April.

The survival horror game dethroned last month’s big hit, Journey, while managing to keep all other new digital releases for the month at bay. Despite debuting late in the month the first episode of The Walking Dead crept its way into the top 5.

PS Vita owners can’t seem to get enough of the Escpae Plan. The black and white puzzle game continued to dominate the chart since’s its late February debut.
