Can’t say. He/she shared the information on a Playstation gaming forum. His details sounded more believable than what has been speculated so far but this person denies any ties to the game or Sony. So it may turn out to be nothing but a rumor.

If it quacks, waddles, and floats on the water, its a duck. If something makes humans more animalistic and violent (like a zombie), with a desire to spread their foulness to the uninfected (like a zombie), its turning them into...not a zombie? LOTS of zombie games lately have been trying to get around the fact that their monsters aren't REALLY zombies by adding twista as to how they got this way. Dead Space doesn't REALLY have zombies because the Necromorphs are just alien parasites. Left 4 Dead didn't have any zombies, just "Infected." To argue that a plant taking over the brain and making you attack other people isn't a zombie is a silly distinction; an attempt to take the game out of the genre its really going to fall into. So yeah, if this is true, and the people are being turned "animalistic," then yes, its a zombie game. As to the premise being described: sounds neat, but being a zombie game, it'll all come down to execution. Since we don't know a genre yet, there's really nothing to distinguish this zombie concept from any other. It could be a shooter, an open-world RPG, or even a RTS. Cool idea for where the zombies come from, but not much more than could have been assumed before. Btw, this source: any reason they might know this stuff?
