The makers of Dead Nation, Outland and Super StarDust HD, have announced one of their new projects coming to the PS4. The first is a yet-to-be named “spiritual successor” to the Supre StarDust franchise coming exclusively to the PS4.
“We are super excited to be working on Sony’s next-gen hardware,” said Housemarque’s CEO Ilari Kuittinen. “The platform’s performances are enabling us to do things that wouldn’t be possible otherwise and we truly believe that better technology can lead to better gameplay. The more tools and resources we have at our disposal, the better.”
Think of Super Stardust HD: at the time, PlayStation 3 gave us the opportunity to populate the game with thousands of interactive objects and implement the game’s famous ‘spherical gameplay’. Today, we can take advantage of the architecture of PlayStation 4 to create incredible visuals with direct impact on the way the new game feels.”
More information on this game and the second unannounced project will be revealed in the coming months.
A new installment to Capcom’s long running Street Fighter franchise could be in the cards. Series Executive Producer, Yoshinori Ono, ( kinda ) confirmed as much via Twitter earlier today in response to a fan inquire on the subject.
Here’s what he said:
Wait till EVO13 ;P RT @mik0x: Can we have a year of release or something for the next Street Fighter
?
— Yoshinori Ono (@Yoshi_OnoChin) May 24, 2013
Proceeding the above tweet, the producer was asked about the chances of a Street Fighter game appearing on the XBox One. He replied by saying:
I have no set plans about it. I’ll think about it after E3… Go or Not… ;D
If another Street Fighter is currently in the works, will it skip next gen systems?
We’ll have to wait until this year’s Evolution Championship Series kicks off on July 12th for the answers.
If a new listing by New Zealand retailer, Mighty Ape, proves accurate, Warner Bros. Games Montreal’s next installment to the successful Batman games will arrive on next gen systems.
The retailer has Batman: Arkham Origins pegged for the PS4 and XBox One but, unlike its current gen brethren, both versions lack a release window or a price.
Before the game was officially announced for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC ( through Game Informer ) earlier this year, the rumor mill was ripe with speculation about Batman: Arkham Origins’ possible next gen release. Those rumors were eventually laid to rest, only to resurface again, it seems, like a pesky green haired villain.
In case you were planning on holding off purchasing DONTNOD Entertainment’s Remember Me next month for current gen systems in favor of a possible next gen release, don’t bother waiting.
According to the studio’s Narrative Director, Alain Damasio, Remember Me won’t be making the next gen jump simply because it’s “too expensive.” Since moving into a new building a month ago, the France based studio has jumped from 5 employees to 170.
The futuristic action game which unfolds in Neo Paris 2084 is scheduled to release for the PS3, 360 and PC on June 4th. An early review for the game has also been published.
