Konami Addresses Suikoden Fans With Sad News

Suikoden

Konami’s long running Suikoden franchise loosely based on a classical Chinese novel, has garnered millions of fans over its 17 year history.

With the Japanese release of Genso Suikoden: Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki [The Woven Web of A Century] for the PSP nearly a year ago, Suikoden enthusiasts wondering what’s next for the series will be disappointed to learn that the future isn’t too bright.

Via Twitter, Konami shared the following announcement late Wednesday( Jan 9th ) :

Dear Suikoden fans, it’s incredible to see the outpouring of support from our fans for the Suikoden series. We love Suikoden, too! In fact, we have several huge fans in Konami’s own offices.

Sadly, we have no new announcements regarding the Suikoden series at this time. We appreciate the feedback and encourage an open and honest discussion with you, our fans, on as many channels as possible.

So please, continue to let your opinion be heard! We are listening.

Perhaps we’ll see more of Suikoden at some point but for now it seems that the series has become another casualty of a troubled genre.
