PlayStation Plus Is A Plus For Sony’s Bottom Line

Introduced over two years ago, Sony Computer Entertainment’s paid PlayStation Network subscription service has become a profitable component for the Japanese conglomerate.

“The success of PS Plus is contributing in a big way to driving overall PSN sales, as our last quarter was the biggest in terms of transactional sales in PSN’s six-year history,” a Sony spokesperson told Games Industry.biz.

“The immediate consumer reaction was completely off the charts, and membership sales more than doubled during the week of E3.”

Although no hard numbers were mentioned, the firm reportedthat customer satisfaction of the subscription is at 97%, with a renewal rate of 93%.
