A new Metal Gear Solid installment was announced today during the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary event in Japan. As promised Hideo Kojima revealed to those attending the open world stealth title, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.
According to details shared by Gamespot, a much younger Snake in the rain, wearing his trademarked eyepatch made an appearance in the real time demo shown at the event. Kojima took to the stage to show off a bit of gameplay, but nothing that we haven’t already seen done before in a Metal Gear title was depicted.
However, Kojima did state that he wishes to “add a new spin to the stealth genre; even when you’re discovered, you can use all the means and tools to escape rather than see a “game over” screen.”
Although the demo was running on a PC Kojima stated that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is being developed for current gen consoles but Famitsu reports that Kojima Productions is also working on next generation development.
