Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino has joined the growing list of Japanese developers looking to create an open world experience similar to Bethesda’s Skyrim.
In the latest issue of Famitsu, Hino stated that, as a game designer he would like to make a new big world akin to the open worlds of Skyrim and Dragon’s Dogma.
Although he didn’t go into details about his ambitious desire, Hino did say that he will be able to do this in the “near future.”
Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami has also expressed interest in the open world genre. Speaking to PSM3 recently, the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim aficionado stated that if he could create this type of game it ”would be a game that mixes the best of the old kind of games with this relatively new open-world concept.”
