There seems to be a bit of finger pointing going on between the parties involved with the Western versions of White Knight Chronicles II.
As of May 2012 D3 Publisher ruled out new content (patches, weapons, quests, the Avatar expansion story , etc..) for the online rpg in North America due to the dlc in question being Japanese only. Thus implying that either Level-5 or SCEJ is preventing the release of said content.
However, according to Level-5, the game’s developer, the Japanese studio has nothing to do with dlc released in the West.
According to a source who has been in contact with Level-5, a rep for the company has expressed his disappointment with how the game is being handled ( or mishandled ) overseas.
The rep also stated that the responsibility of releasing dlc for White Knight Chronicles II in Western territories lies with the publisher(s), and that would be SCEE & D3 Publisher.
Thanks to hackers who have proven that both the EU and NA versions of White Knight Chronicles II does have partially translated content on their discs it would appear that it was Level-5′s ( or Sony’s ) original intention to make this dlc available for western customers.
Does this mean it was D3 who dropped the ball when they localised WKC II? Perhaps. However, with the release of new content last month ( eventhough this dlc was already made avaialble in EU ) it seems the parties involved could be seeking a solution to the issue.
Stay tuned.
okay I have a question… is sony actually going to look into this as to why hackers here in the game
are causing the server to go bad?
Not sure what you mean about hackers causing servers to go bad but neither SCEA/SCEE hasn’t given any indication to the public that it’s concerned with what’s happening with WKC II.
well… I been playing the game for 12 straight months. and every time I go from room to room,
I see some names along with Lv 80 and then GR99. its a hack all right.
Those are definatly hackers/modders. I’ve played with one or two myself but I make an effort to avoid them since they take the challenge out of the game. Sony doesn’t appear to be concerned with them though.
one thing I really know is that, the hacking took place in the uk. but not here in N/A.
