Tekken’s Heihachi Mishima is one of the new third party characters announced for All-Stars but will he be joined by more fighters from Namco Bandai’s beat-em up?
During a Q&A session at Evolution 2012, Superbot Entertainment’s Omar Kendall, Paul Edwards, Tommy Ho, Artavan Mhkikian, Edward Ma, and Daniel Maniago shared interesting new details about PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
Kendall revealed that a mix of third party and first party characters are still to be announced for the brawler.
He also teased that the final boss for the game’s story mode will be a character that first appeared during the PlayStation 1 era. [Update: Looks like we jumped the gun a bit here and misquoted Kendall. What he actually said during the panel was "if you are big PlayStation fans, then you can probably figure out the last boss."] Who he/she could be is anyone’s guess but we’re pretty sure some fans ( including us ) already have a certain white haired villain from Final Fantasy in mind.
Kendall also promises a lag free online experience. He’s confident that there will be no difference between offline and online play when it comes to connection quality. The developers are working hard to include as much content on the game’s disc but dlc is still on the table.
What we found most interesting is that every character has a rival in story mode. Does this confirm that we’ll see more from the likes of Tekken, Uncharted, God of War related characters in the fighter? It sounds that way but we’ll have to wait and see.
Superbot isn’t done with new announcements regarding PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. The studio promises two new character announcements and more surprises during the San Diego Comic Con this month.
