No Vehicles ( or T-Rexes ) In Tomb Raider Reboot

Earlier this month at E3 2012 in Los Angeles Karl Stewart, Crystal Dynamics’ Global Brand Director, shared a few bits of Tomb Raider details during a Q&A session with the official “Eidos forum ambassador.”

During this segment, which can be heard on episode 11 of the Crystal Habit Podcast, Stewart revealed that Lara’s new adventure won’t feature vehicles like previous titles.  Also absent this time around is the inclusion of the vicious Tyrannosaurus Rex which have played a role in numerous Tomb Raider games up until The Last Revelation.

-Lara’s weapons will get stronger over time/she has to salvage to improve them

-No vehicles

-No T-Rex moments.

-No limitations on Lara’s carrying capacity

-Expect “very big scenes” to  play out that will bring you a side of Lara that you’ve never expected

- The Jade necklace isn’t an integral part of the story but it has some symbolic value and will be “flesh it out.”

-Whitman is a seasoned pro/somebody that has some very unique facets to his character

-Bows are sexy

Originally scheduled for a late 2012 release, Tomb Raider is now on track for a March 5th 2013 debut in 2013 for the PS3, 360 and PC.
