Square Enix Hiring For First Luminous Project

Weeks after showing the world the next gen Agni’s Philosophy Final Fantasy real-time tech demo powered by the Luminous engine, several new job listing posted by Square Enix Japan seems to indicate the company is moving forward with what could be its first generation title for future consoles.

While there is no indication of a genre or other specific details accompanying the listings for a 3D Graphics Programmer and an AI Programmer, experience with graphics core or shader development on either the PS3 or 360 is a requirement for one position. Experience in graphics development for iOS games was also mentioned, signaling that Square Enix’s focus isn’t just on home consoles.

A third job opening for a Server/ Database Programmer  also hints at online components in the company’s unannounced project(s).

We can only speculate what Square Enix is cooking up behind closed doors. However, if unconfirmed reports are to be believed, we may not actually get to play a Luminous Studio powered game before 2015.
