Don’t Rule Out An Even Slimmer PS3

Leading up to this year’s E3 several rumors were flying about a possible announcement for Sony next generation console, the PS4. Although nothing of the sort was announced at the event Sony isn’t ready to rule out a new piece of hardware where the PS3 is concerned.

During an interview with Eurogamer Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida teased a new possible hardware for the PS3.

“We haven’t announced anything new on PS3 in terms of hardware revisions. We should never say never – hardware guys are always looking at ways to make things cheaper, smaller.”

In 2009 during the German trade show Gamescom Sony revealed a much smaller, cheaper version of its console called the PS3 Slim. If the company is to release an even slimmer PS3 perhaps Gamescom is where it will be unveiled again.
