
This week a select few journalists were given access to a live play session of Final Fantasy XIV Version 2.0. While it’ll be a little longer before players are treated to a trailer for the new and improved MMORPG, Square Enix has shared the next best thing to the rest of us.
Director and producer Naoki Yoshida also passed along a bit of information regarding the progress of 2.0, the PS3 edition and what gamers can expect from the ultimate version of Final Fantasy XIV.
- Roadmap to Version 2.0 is on schedule.
-Full promotions will begin around August
- Alpha test in late September followed by a beta test sometime later.
-PlayStation 3 beta testers will take part in the latter half of the beta.
-Expect an Ivalice and the FFXIII world in FFXIV form.
-Time frame ofr PS3 version is undisclosed, Amazon Japan has it dated for December
-PS3 version will be targeted to new players.
-2.0 is designed to be extremely customizable, allowing it to run on high spec PCs, low spec PCs and PlayStation 3.
-Only PC images shown, expect a 15% bump in quality by the time FFXIV 2.0 becomes available to all.
