Dragon’s Crown Gets New Publisher And 2013 Release Date

Falling off the radar after first being revealed at E3 2011 , the fate of Dragon’s Crown for the PS3 and PS Vita had been in question. Not too long ago Vanillaware had confirmed that the game was still in development but beyond that the status of the title remained undisclosed.

Today we find out the reasons for all the silence concerning the title.

Atlus announced that it had taken up publishing duties for Dragon’s Crown in both North America and Japan.

“Key  members” of the Atlus ‘internal development team ( some of the same folks that worked on the Persona series ) will be involved with the project as producer(s), according to Aram Jabbari, Manager of Public Relations and Sales at Atlus.

When we took over the reins, we realized that a lot of the information made available to the public was ambitious and unfounded conjecture. The release timing, the pricing, and many of the features detailed for fans and members of the press were simply unknowable at the time they were disseminated (and frankly we were quite shocked to find out that many of the details were made public unbeknownst to even the developers).

Dragon’s Crown is now slated for a 2013 release.
