Last May Tekken creator Katsuhiro Harada mentioned that development for Namco’s upcoming crossover fighting game,Tekken X Street Fighter had yet to begin.
However, with Street Fighter x Tekken out around the world and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 hitting home consoles this Fall, work on Tekken x Street Fighter has reportedly picked up.
During a recent Tekken Tag Tournament 2 interview with The Independent, Harada supplied a small update about the current status of Namco Bandai’s version of the company’s crossover projects with Capcom.
TI: Just to sneak in another question before we go: Tekken X Street Fighter, how’s your response to Capcom’s effort coming along?
KH: We’ve made some progress, a lot actually, not quite 10% but almost!
On March 4th of this year Namco launched a poll on the Tekken Facebook page seeking fans imput on who they would like to see in Tekken X Street Fighter. Despite having 5 characters from each series to choose from Katsuhiro Harada made it clear that the poll will not decide the final roster, but will instead be used in conjunction with various research methods to determine the final character lineup.
