[Update]
Ted Price of Insomniac Games has confirmed that the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection is coming but not in May for North America. Marking the Ratchet & Clank 10th anniversary the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection will arrive this Fall in North America and this Spring in Europe.
Price stated that the region delay was due to a “very special” surprise for North American fans. In addition to a full 1080p HD remaster (720p stereoscopic 3D support) of all three games and the inclusion of three Platinum Trophies, Price also confirm that the online competitive multiplayer from Up Your Arsenal will be included as well.

Initial indications of a possible Ratchet & Clank HD collection was in the pipeline was somewhat confirmed after the title was spotted then removed on Amazon France.
Today new information concerning the collection has surfaced courtesy of the Dutch video game site 9lives. According to details provided the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection is on track for a May 16th debut in the region as both a digital and retail release.
Like previous remastered trilogies this collection will include the first three parts of the series with 3D and trophy support and will run at sixty frames per second. More interesting is claims that there will be a mulitplayer component in the game that will support 2-8 players.
The first Ratchet & Clank game to include multiplayer was Ratchet: Deadlocked, the fourth title created for the PS2. However with Deadlock apparently absent from the HD Collection it seems this mode will be something entirely new.
