Since 2008 PS3 owners have been given the extra incentive to continue playing a game days or even months after completing it thanks to the inclusion of the trophy system.
Even though the first ever PS3 game to receive a trophy set was Naughty Dog’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune -via a patch nearly a year later- the action adventure is not the number one platinum title amongst gamers.
That honor goes to Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed II, which was released for the system in 2009.
According to information passed along during this week’s Official PlayStation Blogcast more people have platinum Assassin’s Creed II than any other title available for the system. Second on the list is Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 followed by Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
As reported during the latter half of the podcast many of the top platinum games on the list were popular titles that weren’t too heavy on multiplayer.
