As reported late last year Insomniac Games is ready to go its seperate ways from its first person shooter franchise. Speaking to VG247 Ted Price went on record saying “We won’t be making any more Resistances.”
As a PS3 launch title back in 2006 Resistance: Fall of Man was the first exclusive title to break the million mark. Additional installments of the series were later met with a lukewarm reception. The third game in the series received favorably by gamers and the media however sales of the shooter have been unimpressive.
Insomniac Games is now busy working as a multiplatform studio with its first new game, Overstrike, set to arrive on the PS3 and 360. Overstrike will be published by EA.
Social media will also play a growing role in future IG projects. A social gaming space called Insomniac Click is in the pipeline. At this point little information concerning Insomniac Click has been publicly shared.
