While we continue to await the release of Square Enix’s epic role-playing game, let’s take a moment to pick the best possible English voice actors who we think would fit the cast of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. The industry is filled with talented individuals up for the task.
Here are our top candidates for voicing the characters of Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
Noctis Lucis Caelum: Christian Bale
Yes, THAT Christian Bale.
Before Bale became best known for his role as The Batman he voiced the charming and mysterious wizard Howl in Studio Ghibli’s movie adaptation of Howl’s Moving Castle. Bale did such a good job bringing the self-indulgent character to life in the English version of the movie you would never have realized it was him until the ending credits. Like Noctis, Howl is a strong character that appreciates his companions around him. Christian Bale’s work on Howl’s Moving Castle makes him our number one pick as Noctis’ English voice actor.
Ignis: Troy Baker
The first choice that comes to mind to voice Noctis’ childhood friend and family strategist is none other than Troy Baker. Baker has many talents when it comes to voice work and it shows. From the vengeful Mitsunari Ishida ( Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes), the indecisive Vincent Brooks ( Catherine ) to the deadly ninja Ryu Hayabusa ( Ninja Gaiden 3 ), Baker is a gifted voice actor whose work isn’t limited to just video games.
Gladiolus: Gideon Emery
If you don’t recognize the face ( although you should if you’re a fan of NCIS: LA ) Emery’s voice should prove familiar. Emery recently voiced Sam Gideon in Sega’s futuristic shooter, Vanquish plus he also providing work on Final Fantasy XII as the sky pirate Balthier. Emery’s other more recent roles in video games include Dynasty Warriors 7, God of War III and Battlefield 3, just to name a few.
Prompto: James Arnold Taylor
Best known as Ratchet in Insomniac Games’ Ratchet and Clank series and Tidus in Final Fantasy X.
Stella Nox Fleuret: Jennifer Hale
Famous for her work as Naomi Hunter in Metal Gear Solid 4, Samus in the Metroid Prime trilogy and the female Shepard in Mass Effect 3. We haven’t heard or seen much of Stella in Versus but from what we can tell so far, she looks like she’ll be a strong female character.
