In a continuing trend of PSP titles that may not see the light of day stateside ( see White Knight Chronicles: Origins) the third entry to Sega’s cel-shaded SRPG is the next to join the list.

Due to less than spectacular sales of Valkyria Chronicles II outside of Japan, Sega has confirmed that localization of the third game for the PSP won’t happen. Hiroshi Seno, Sega’s team manager of console sales, broke the sad news to GameSpot stating that Valkyria Chronicles II did not sell enough to justify localization costs.
Although future PSP releases in the West seem out of the question, Valkria Chronicles may find a new home on Sony’s PlayStation Vita as a downloadable title. When asked about the chances of that happening Seno gave fans of the series a bit of hope stating that Sega ”would make a concrete decision the next time it meets with Sony”
The Valkyria Chronicles series launched as a PS3 exclusive back in 2008. Sega moved the series to the PSP where it’s seen slightly better success sales-wise in Japan alone.
