The spiritual successor to the cult classic Demon’s Souls topped the charts in Japan during it’s debut week. With an impressive 279,567 copies sold, Dark Souls managed to move nearly 9x as many copies in it’s first week when compared to Demon’s Souls initial sales. Although with the reported bugs players have been encountering in the game pre and post patches, some early adapters may be a bit weary.
Coming in second place was the The Limited Box edition of the Team Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection with 91,902 copies sold. Individual numbers for the HD upgrades were 13,420 for SotC and 7,941 for ICO.
