Things hit the fans recently on the BattleField 3 EA UK forums.
It seems that certain members of the community forum weren’t too happy when it was announced that Operation Metro was going to be the provided map during the beta testing period of the game. This announcement came AFTER DICE had previously claimed otherwise, that the Operation Metro wasn’t going to be used for beta. Apparently some fans had their hearts set on a different map to play during the beta ( one that would allow up to 64 players ) and became somewhat upset by the news.
When the complaints became loud a forum moderator shared his opinion on the matter:
Almost immediately after the mod hit the submit button on his post the entire thread was deleted, but not before someone made the above screen shot of it.
Was the mod’s response to the disgruntled fans in this case appropriate or over-the-top?

Mod? He’s the lead community manager for DICE
Bit out of line if they said earlier that Operation Metro wouldn’t be used however, but he’s right in general, people do act like a bunch of entitled brats.
What kind of morons do you take your audience for?
Your overly sensationalized headline is a LIE.
The moderator didn’t LASH out at all. He was trying to reign in a mob of negativity over a minor detail. They giving away the beta for free to anyone who wants that. Regardless of what level it is — that is pretty damned cool.
Since you didn’t bother to pay attention in school and learn that words like LASH have meanings…
lash
1.
a. A stroke or blow with or as if with a whip.
b. A whip.
c. The flexible portion of a whip, such as a plait or thong.
2. Punishment administered with a whip.
3.
a. A lacerating presence or power: the lash of conscience.
b. A caustic verbal attack.
You want a great example of Lashing? David Jaffe. Did this moderator even approach David Jaffe’s tone or demeanor? NO! Did he cuss? NO!
