Coming June 15th Super Street Fighter IV fans will be able to download a new free Tournament Mode. The mode will allow gamers to create their own 4 or 8 person single elimination tournaments.
Once you create or take part in a tournament, you’re taken to the tournament lobby where you can see other players and make settings adjustments. If you create the tournament you’ll be labeled as the “organizer” with the freedom to adjust the upcoming battle lineup.
The tournament chart is automatically created when the host initiates the fight. The mode will include Voice chat and the ability to record a replay of the battle.
To unlock tournament mode, simply power up the game in your PS3 for an automatic download or download it via Xbox Live. You can watch the official Tournament Mode trailer on SSF IV’s Japanese website.
No word yet on when/if this mode will become available outside of Japan.
