After failing to top the charts in it’s debut month of March in North America, fans of the Sega/Tri-Ace collaboration, Resonance of Fate, may be curious to know just how well the game did over all.
While no numbers were given Sega’s Naoya Tsurumi recently mentioned that Resonance of Fate had” solid sales records.” In the same interview Tsurumi also pointed out that a number of games sold less than their initially targeted quantities.
With Bayonetta being considered a success with over a million sales generated and Aliens Vs Predator selling “according to expections” it may be safe to assume that RoF is one of the games that missed it’s target in North America.
I wonder if it was because RoF was sent to it’s doom in the crowded month of God of War III,Final Fantasy,Pokemon and Bad Company?
Oh well it couldnt be too bad. In our Gamestop we sold out of the 8 copies on PS3 and 5 copies on the 360 in March and haven’t had it back in since. Red Steel 2 sold 2 copies since it came out. Thats right, the sequel to a Wii game that every single person who got a Wii in 2006 owned sold 2 bloody copies to date. So did Resonance of Fate sell well, course it bloody did, pointless article. PS please stop wasting such time and effort on Wii games, those crappy sports multi pack games are fine but not any game made by more then 10 people, its embarassing i.e Dead Space Extraction, hasnt sold the 1 copy that came into the shop yet.
Yes, that was the reason of RoF/EoE’s failing sales, they released it in the same month with the hardhitters of March. FF & GoW3 alone would overshadow any games ever released in that month and the problem is they went head to head with it. Stupid Sega.
