Tekken 7: Bringing Tag Back?

By now everyone should be aware that the game Harada-san mention wasn’t Tekken 7 but Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

For some hardcore fans, Tekken 6 was a disappointment on many levels. One of the many reason were mainly because Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion was a two year old Arcade port by the time of it’s console release. Many were turned off by the fact that Namco offer nothing new in the PS360 versions of the game which was quite the opposite of what Namco has done with past games.
Despite it’s flaws Tekken 6 managed to sell over 1m copies worldwide and is still considered to be one of the best 3D fighter available. With the inevitable announcement that Tekken 7 is currently in development fans of the series may be hoping Namco Bandai’s Katsuhiro Harada will implement a feature not seen in Tekken since it’s PlayStation 2 days: a Tag Mode.
Tekken Tag Tournament for the PS2 is considered to be one of the best, if not the best, game of the series by Tekken afficianodoes. In a year old interview with “Mr Tekken” himself, Katsuhiro Harada was a asked by Kotaku what his future plans were( for Tekken?)
Mister Harada’s answer: “There are two products we’re working on at the moment that haven’t been announced yet, so we can’t say much. But one thing I will say is [we’re focusing on] the versus aspect, and it’s not necessarily one player versus one.”
Unless Harada’s response was referring to the upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team for the PSP, Tekken 7 just may answer gamers’ prayers for another Tekken Tag installment.
And lets bring back Tekken bowling as well…that was awesome and needs to be included in all Tekken games damnit!

better yet – why not bring out Tekken Tag Tournament on PSN and XBLA remastered? I would love to have all the tekken games out for them… They did it for Tekken 5, so why not?
I really hope they will bring a tag mode in tekken 7! imagine tekken crash 4 pro players dishing it out the best team wins! oh my gawd I think I just jizzed!
Man, Tekken 7 needs this list for me to buy it.
1.Offline ranking.
2. Tag Battle
3. Most importantly Both Character Customization and Character Creation (just like or better than Soul Calibur4.Since there is no more Soul Calibur’s.)
4.Better online.
5. Better HD Graphics
6. Take out the bounce system.
Reason for number 1. People don’t have time to play online all day. Offline ranking prepares players to play online. For Example if a player plays a game on easy everyday. Eventually the game naturally becomes harder.
Reason for number 2. One of the most demanded features for Tekken 7.
Reason for number 3. The character customization system was too limited and boring. I was so bored with Tekken 6. Besides by allowing players to create their characters the game will become even more addicting. It is a shame that Tekken 6 was so boring and unplayable.Come on Namco, Soul Calibur 4 had it and it made me play it. Size does not matter in the game of Tekken anyone can juggle anyone.
Reason for 4. It was a shame that I had to play other fighting games to enjoy online play. Tekken 6 online sucked.
Reason for 5.Graphics were UGLY!! That was shameful and embarrassing.
Reason for 6. The bounce system was a mistake. Tekken 6 turned into a juggle fest. This was a noobs and scrubs heaven but a players nightmare. Make Tekken 7 back like it was when players played with honor.

I agree about the graphics, but it is a 2 year old arcade game. I’d just love to see Namco ditch the arcade version in Tekken 7 , but I doubt it’ll happen.
when is tekken going to end? l’m not for sure tekken 7 is the last one of the series cause l played all the original ones. Tekken 6 was boring cause the hd graphics were damn ugly, onling game sucks for one you had to wait for long time for the match to start, l hated the guy saying “GET READY FOR THE NEXT BATTLE”. aslo tekken 5 had that term as well, and 2 year old arcade game.
I was hyped for Tekken 6 but the 2 year wait for an Arcade port and Scenerio Mode killed my expectations of the game. I still enjoy though but not as much as I hoped I would.
If the next Tekken game doesn’t include Tag and is ported to the PS3 from the Arcades again with nothing new to offer, then Tekken 6 is the last one I’ll buy.
I would like the Character Selection to be like Soul Calibur 4′s. I hated that you have only 2 Costumes to Customize. I liked how on SC4 once you picked your character you could choose what ever costume you customized, I think there was 15 total. I’d like that implemented on Tekken 7. Also a Character Creation I’d like too. Again more like SC4.
Lastly, I Want more Stages! I hate playing for Long Sessions of Tekken 6, The same stages over and over again. About as Many Stages as there is Gonna be Characters. Every Character has their own Stage. And make the Stages like on Tekken & Tekken 2, based on places that actually exist. Like King George Island, and The Tajh Mahol.
