Rumor: Ninja Theory Working on Next Devil May Cry Game?
It’s been reported that Ninja Theory, the studio who brought us Heavenly Sword for the PS3 and is currently hard at work on Enslaved for the PS360, is working on a secret project.
Is that secret project the next Devil May Cry game? Game Informer says, yes. Quoted from page 30 of the magazine’s May issue, for those without a subscription:
Loose Talk has learned that Enslaved isn’t the only game Ninja Theory is working on-we’ve heard that the Cambridge, England developer is being tapped for the next Devil May Cry.
It is not totally unexpected, however; Capcom has said that although it is shying away from Western developer for new IP, it would continue to utilize them for known franchises, which DMC certainly is.
Heavenly Sword was and still is one of the best games available for the PS3. If Ninja Theory recaptures the gameplay elements that made Heavenly Sword enjoyable with the next DMC game and expands upon it, then you can label this gamer very excited!

DMC belongs to Capcom, why the hell should they allow another developer to make a game for their franchise!?
That’s the worst idea i’ve ever heard, getting a 80% gamerankings developer to bring down the quality of your game. I haven’t seen such a bad decision since silent hill exported their franchaise to someone else, it’s going to be a disaster.

plus Heavenly Sword sukced i mean look at the characters design “NOT ENVEN CLOSE TO THE JAPANESE STANDARDS” , the mocap acting ,some story elements that didn’t fit the game and the game was short !

They have 2 lead game designers according to linkedin. Strange for a studio only working on a single game. This could be true, hope it is not though as HS was not very good game play.

Heavenly Sword was a masterpiece.
The acting, character models, enviroments, gameplay, music were all top knotch and it was created by a small studio. It feature quick time elements as well.
It’s only short comings was the game’s length, no trophy patch and a few gameplay features were lacking, like being able to jump. Jumping really wasn’t necessary in HS, tbh.
I’d rather play HS again than DMC4.

Are you all kidding me? Note: the first word of the title is “Rumor.” I wouldn’t be afraid of Ninja Theory doing DMC, but there hasn’t even been an actual comment from them about making a DMC game. You all can cool your motors until Ninja Theory puts out some screenshots of them developing the next DMC game.
Game Informer seemed pretty sure about the news, but failed to give a source. That’s why I decided to title this as a rumor.
I bet we’ll see some solid evidence soon.
Capcom is suck!!! If they can’t expand the franchise, then leave it to Kamiya and P*. If this rumor is true, all Capcom’s doing is ruining the game I love the most!!!!
I really hope this rumor is true so everyone belly aching about it will eat their words if/when Ninja Theory makes DMC fun again. Lord knows that task is too big for Capcom nowadays.
OK, to every fuck-head that keep saying that HS didn’t sucked a huge elephant dick and prefer to play it instead of DMC 4 believe me you should never touch any thing related to video games ever again nothing was special about it. there is actually people say that ninja theory my bring a fresh idea or something new, her is the idea: there is no place to try any thing stupid like giving DMC 5 to a new team we know what a new team did to DMC 2, besides look at Enslaved the new game they’re working at i bet if no one from DMC fans want DMC 5 to be like that.
to top it of if capcom won’t make DMC 5 better than bayoneta(which is a great game to me), i wont by it.

HS was a little dull but it did have some good ideas plus if this is happening Capcom will also make sure they use the DMC engine not the HS one but there will be a chance for additional things. I just need some more DMC~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i;d rather have team ninja make a DMC game instead of ninja theory. that way its guaranteed that the action will be uber violent and yet flashy at the same time.
Goddamnit! I hope you guys will all swallow your big fat ugly words when (hopefully) this next DMC comes out. I friggin loved Heavenly Sword. Great story, HUGE personality onto the characters, and the gameplay element is one of my favourites so far. So you get your hopes up because, and write this down, this next DMC WILL be the best so far!!!
I only have to say this, I found DMC1,2,3 and even 4 to be amazing games. Even now, I play DMC4 on my 360 and DMC1,2,3 on my ps2. I have not played HS, but if it’s like what most of you say, then I will definitely check it out if it’s anything like DMC. I personally do not care what team or company does make DMC 5. So long as they keep Dante there and has good gameplay, along with stunning graphics, I will be content with letting another team take the helm of making it. If any of you have a problem just let me know by replying back and I’ll talk to you further about it. Peace out and all DMC fans, keep it real and enjoy one of the greatest games ever made and always stay a fan of DMC and Dante. Hahahaha anyways, enjoy my long post.

Capcom is responsible for both the good(1,3)and bad( 2,4) DMC games. Since the original creator of the series is gone from the company and with the feedback they recieved from DMC 4, Capcom is trying to find ways to recapture the essence of what made the game so popular.
It’s obvious since the company let all of their most talented developers go, they need to look outside of Capcom to do just that.
I take back all the positive comments I posted on this article. Ninja Theory + DMC= WORST IDEA EVER.
